‘Yorkshire v. Sussex’ 1882. Early original single sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the match played at the Saville Cricket Ground, Dewsbury, 15th- 17th June 1882. In the first innings a weak Sussex side were bowled out for 104, F.F.J. Greenfield top scoring with 55 and E. Peate taking 5/41 for Yorkshire. Yorkshire then made 184 (W. Bates 56) before bowling Sussex out cheaply again for 100, James Lillywhite top scoring with 28no and Peate taking a further six wickets giving him match figures of 11/79. Yorkshire then knocked off the required 21 runs to win by ten wickets. Other players who featured include G. Ulyett, L. Hall, E. Lockwood, R. Sidgwick, T. Emmett, A. Hill, J. Padgett, I. Grimshaw, J. Hunter (Yorkshire), R.T. Ellis, J. Phillips, H.R.J. Charlwood, H. Phillips, W.A. Tester, H. Mitchell, J. Senescall, A.B. Hide and J.W. Juniper (Sussex). Printed by W. Whittam of Sheffield. 4.5”x6”.
