Edward Ralph Dexter. Sussex & England 1957-1968. M.C.C./England navy blue touring cap, by Simpson of Piccadilly, worn by Dexter during his Test playing career touring with England. The cap, with embroidered England emblem of St. George and the Dragon, to front. ‘E. Dexter’ handwritten to inner lining. Small moth hole to the peak otherwise in good condition
Dexter, captain of Sussex 1960-1965, he played in sixty two Test matches for England, thirty as Captain from 1961/62-1964. Right hand batsman, he scored 4502 runs at an average of 47.89 with a highest Test score of 205, v Pakistan at Karachi in 1961/62, and scored nine Test centuries.
