Joseph ‘Joe’ Vine. Sussex & England 1896-1922. Rarer original sepia postcard of Vine standing full length at the wicket wearing cricket attire, hands in pockets. Printed caption ‘”Joe” Vine after his Record Innings at Hastings Aug 16th 1920 of 202 runs’. Photo by A.M. Breach. Publisher unknown. Postally unused. Slight creasing to corner and edges, small stain to lower edge, otherwise in good condition.
Joe Vine achieved his record score of 202 at the age of 45 for Sussex in the match against Northamptonshire at Hastings 14th- 17th August 1920. Sussex won by ten wickets.
