Sussex C.C.C. ‘Cox’s Benefit’ 1920. Rarer sepia real photograph postcard of Sussex players George Street and Henry Roberts standing full length wearing cricket attire and blazers, Street with Sussex cap. The photograph taken at the Hove cricket ground, the players standing in front of a fairground attraction. Each player is holding a collection bag and sign saying ‘Cox’s Benefit’. Publisher unknown. Postally unused. Crease to one corner, otherwise in good/ very good condition. A nice image.
Postponed from 1914 due to the outbreak of war, George Cox’s benefit match was Sussex v Yorkshire, Hove 25th- 27th August 1920. Sussex won by 162 runs and raised £1388.
