‘C.F. Salter’s Cricket Score. Surrey Colts v. Sussex Colts’ 1862. Small and early original double sided scorecard for the match played at ‘Box’s Brunswick Cricket Ground, Hove’ 17th- 19th July 1862. The front of the scorecard with printed scores for the state of play as at ‘Second Day, Friday- 2.0pm’, and the reverse at ‘... 7.0pm’. Surrey Colts (185 & 185) beat Sussex Colts (110 & 128) by 132 runs. Surrey’s Henry Jupp (two Tests for England) was top scorer in both innings with 63 & 68. The only other players who went on to play first-class cricket were T.W. Gunn (6 matches), J.P Stafford (1 match) for Surrey, and J.P. Anscombe (3 matches) for Sussex. Printed on the ground by E. Trill. 3.5”x5”. Horizontal fold, age toning, holes to corners and wear, overall in fair condition.
